I work in the medical field and I plan to one day specialise in oncology (cancer field).
There is no panacea, one stop 'cure' for cancer like there is an antibiotic cure for bacterial infections. I am tempted to chastise and point of areas of weakness in your arguments, but instead I shall explain my reasons for disagreeing with what you have written.
Cancer is a multi-step process, involving the gradual accumulation of deleterious genetic mutations.
To say there is no 'cure' for cancer is a lie. There is a 'cure'. Things like chemotherapy and radiation (in minimally required doses) can kill off cancer cells.
Perhaps instead of reading intriguing yet somewhat dubious articles, you could go out and gather some first hand information from the front line. I am sure kids who have been cured of cancers like leukemia, osteosarcomas, wilm's disease will tell you that the donated money has helped them. Visit the Sydney Children's Hospital, you will hear many wonderful stories.
It is okay if you do not believe in donating for cancer purposes, but if you are not fully informed of your subject matter, it is another matter to spread 'propaganda'.
Also, smoking does cause cancer. There have been many systematic reviews of randomised control trials done in this area. If you still doubt, google 'cochrane database'. It is free public resource with many sound systematic reviews on how they reached this conclusion.
But as I said, I respect if you do not believe in this, it is your decision in the end.
